Program Definition Phase
We are currently in the exploration and definition phase of our Program journey. We are seeking out ideas and partnerships that will ensure that our efforts and the Foundation’s funds have the greatest impact in achieving our mission, which includes the following tenets:
Joy: Jeffrey embodied joy more than most people. He added joy to the experiences of the people around him, and our lives have been enriched by his living the values of humor, fun and creative enjoyment of life. Though we don’t know why such a joyous person would want to leave us, we do know that Jeffrey would have wanted us to continue to spread the joy he so effectively shared with others.
Kindness: Though he never sought credit or attention for it, Jeffrey often showed meaningful and empathetic kindness to others. Whether it was helping an elderly neighbor with a chore, crafting a thoughtful and creative Mother’s Day gift, listening to a friend in need, or just offering his positive presence when he sensed someone was struggling. Jeffrey had a gift for kindness, and we want to carry that gift forward in his honor.
Mental Well-Being for Youth and Families: Simply put, we hope that no family ever has to go through what we have experienced. We hope that the Foundation’s programs can help young people and their families keep such tragedies from occurring. And, if they do occur, we hope the Foundation can help survivors cope with their loss and grief in community, as we had support from our community. We are particularly interested in suicide prevention and grief in community program and partnership ideas.
If you share our values and goals, and especially if you have ideas for programs and partnerships, please reach out to us at hello@jlgmfoundation.org.
